Ready, Set, Cruise! Discounts On Union-Staffed Ship
Union members can cruise at discounted rates on the first new American-flagged deep sea cruise ship in 50 years.
The new ship, Pride of America, employs a crew of some 800 union members represented by the Seafarers International Union (SIU), Marine Engineers (MEBA) and Seafarers Entertainment (SEATU).
It is operated by Norwegian Cruise Lines, one of North America's premier cruise operators. All the ships under the line's NCL America division are fully staffed by union members.
Union members are eligible for:
- A minimum 5 percent discount off any published fare, which can be applied on top of most other discounts.
- Additional special promotions with savings up to 30 percent off selected sailings.
The choice of destinations literally spans the globe from Bermuda, the Caribbean, Alaska and the Hawaiian Islands to Europe, South America, Canada and the Mexican Riviera.
Because of its U.S.-flagged status, NCL America's ships offer itineraries in Hawaii that no other cruise line can. Sailing exclusively within the Hawaiian Islands, without having to sail to a foreign port, gives more port time in Hawaii to explore everything the islands have to offer.
NCL cruises originate from Boston, Charleston, S.C., Honolulu, Houston, Kahului, Hawaii, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Seattle as well as Vancouver, Canada.
