2012 New Officer Training Available

Hotel. Resorts Atlantic City, 1133 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, N.J.

Reservations. Call 800-322-1399. Identify yourself as being with Group VIUE12. The rate is $70 per night. Any cancellations must be made 72 hours before date of arrival to avoid a penalty. The deadline for reservations is March 7.

Classes. Six classes will be offered. They are: Beginning and advanced stewards training; beginning and advanced collective bargaining; financial administration (with expert John Walsh); and a special one day seminar on effective union leadership examining problem solving techniques, participatory decision making, conflict resolution, identifying leadership styles and adapting your style to fit the situation.

Registration. Complete attached form. Attendees do not need to be elected. There is a $15 charge per participant per class. So, for example, if one individual stayed the entire week for intro, advanced and leadership skills classes, the cost would be $45.

Receptions. IUE-CWA will host receptions Tuesday, March 20 and Thursday, March 22 at 6:30 p.m. All attendees and guests must be pre-registered to attend. There is no fee to attend.

  • Advanced Stewards Training, starting Thursday, March 22, at 9 a.m. and ending Friday, March 23, at 10:30 a.m. 
  • Advanced Bargaining, starting Thursday, March 22, at 9 a.m. and ending Friday, March 23, at 10:30 a.m. 
  • Duties of Union Financial Officers, starting Thursday, March 22, at 9 a.m. and ending Friday, March 23, at 10:30 a.m. 
  • Reception, Thursday, March 22, 6:30 p.m.
  • Closing Plenary (repeat of opening plenary topics for attendees only coming for second round of classes), Friday, March 23, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
