Workers Curb Severance Payments at Whirlpool
In a rare shareholder proposal victory, the IUE-CWA supported proposal at Whirlpool to limit the amount of severance payments for executives passed by 51 percent. Click to read the comments by Local 808 Retiree Club President Davey Jones. Whirlpool closed IUE-CWA's Evansville, Ind. plant last year and moved the work to Mexico. Since then they have increased health care costs for retired workers.

Gov. Strickland Impressed with Division’s MSSC Training Program

In a close vote, members at Momentive vote 388-337 to ratify a new national contract.

Statement on Upcoming Momentive Bargaining
"The jobs and the future of the Waterford facility are extremely important to the IUE-CWA. The IUE-CWA Division and the Conference Board have done everything we can to support Local 359 since this conflict began. We renew that commitment, and will work diligently in securing these jobs for the future…..but this must include justice for our members."
