President Clark honored by White House for spearheading the union's manufacturing energy efficiency program.

All across the country this week, working men and women from the IUE-CWA, other unions, and various grassroots organizations will gather to start discussions on how best to relight the spark under the 99% movement.

A groundbreaking collaboration between the Environmental Defense Fund and IUE-CWA got off the ground with the first of six pilot projects to identify energy productivity measures at manufacturing facilities.

In a rare shareholder proposal victory, the IUE-CWA supported proposal at Whirlpool to limit the amount of severance payments for executives passed by 51 percent. Click to read the comments by Local 808 Retiree Club President Davey Jones. Whirlpool closed IUE-CWA's Evansville, Ind. plant last year and moved the work to Mexico. Since then they have increased health care costs for retired workers.

In an early celebration of the Labor Day holiday, a dozen Dayton-area employers will display products manufactured in southwest Ohio by members of IUE-CWA.

Ohio Governor Ted Strickland applauded IUE-CWA for providing state-of-the-art high tech and green job training to dislocated workers. The governor spoke to students at the IUE-CWA Service Center in downtown Dayton.

In a close vote, members at Momentive vote 388-337 to ratify a new national contract.

"The jobs and the future of the Waterford facility are extremely important to the IUE-CWA. The IUE-CWA Division and the Conference Board have done everything we can to support Local 359 since this conflict began. We renew that commitment, and will work diligently in securing these jobs for the future…..but this must include justice for our members."
