Leaders from two of the Division's top General Electric locals were honored this fall for their devotion to their members and their communities. In Schenactady, N.Y., Local 301's Carmen DePoalo was named the "Walter P. Reuther Trade Unionist of the Year." He accepted the award at a dinner October 15. Earlier, on September 15, Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear recognized Louisville, Ky. Local 761 President Jerry Carney for bringing new economic growth to the state ... In Dayton on October 22, Division Staff Rep David "Sonny" Morgan was recognized by the Ohio NAACP as an outstanding labor leader.
